The PEI Provincial Council invites all members to its 92nd annual convention at the Rodd Royalty Hotel, 14 Capital Drive in Charlottetown on May 2nd and 3rd. Registration is from 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm on Friday evening and again on Saturday morning from 8 – 9 am. On Friday evening we have Julie Pellissier-Lush from the Mi’kmaq Confederacy doing a presentation on Aboriginal issues. We also have Holly Pierlot from the Right to Life (PEI) doing a short presentation on the issues concerning Right to Life that will be coming up on PEI this summer. Entertainment by Carmen Halman followed by anniversary cake will round out Friday evening’s activities. On Saturday, Peter Mutch from Catholic Family Services will be doing a presentation on imprisonment in its many forms as he sees it from the Bureau’s perspective. Also, Robert Larter from Charlottetown Police Services will be speaking on pornography. Spiritual exercises, annual reports, and convention business, including a skit by Life Members (always a hit) will be an important part of this convention. This is an election year, so it will be exciting to see who the new Provincial Executive will be.
